Trail of Treats and Discovery returns to Viles Arboretum
Viles Arboretum and the Children’s Discovery Museum are teaming up once again to host the Trail of Treats and Discovery, a family-friendly fall adventure like no other, on Saturday Oct. 25 at Viles Arboretum, 153 Hospital Street in Augusta.
Families are invited to explore a special trail route filled with festive fall activities and nature-inspired discoveries. Along the way, community partners and volunteers will offer interactive stations featuring creative, educational experiences that encourage curiosity about the natural world.
“Trail of Treats offers families a unique way to explore and engage with nature,” said Bethany Drouin, community engagement director at Viles Arboretum. “It’s a chance to enjoy the magic of Halloween while connecting with nature and their community.”
“We love collaborating with Viles Arboretum to create events that encourage families to learn through play,” added Amarinda Keys, executive director of the Children’s Discovery Museum. “This event is the perfect blend of Halloween fun and hands-on discovery.”
Costumes are encouraged and attendees can expect a mix of nature activities, crafts, and treats along the trail. The event is designed to provide all the festive spirit of Halloween while focusing on creativity and connection rather than candy.
Admission is $3 for children aged 4-17. Children aged 3 and under are free! Admission is free for members of either Viles Arboretum or the Children’s Discovery Museum. There is no fee for adults to attend with their children. Visit https://vilesarboretum.org/programs-events/trail-of-treats to purchase tickets.
Visitors are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes for walking the trails. The trail is stroller and wagon friendly. If you have questions or concerns about accessibility, please reach out to Viles Arboretum to learn more about the trail conditions.
Parking is available in the state lot across from the Arboretum.
