Steven L. Pratte
Steven L. Pratte of Boothbay passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026 at the age of 70 with his wife by his side after a hard two-year battle against pancreatic cancer.
Born Aug. 5, 1955 to Alva L. Pratte and Mary Pratte in Centerville, Iowa, Steve married Cindy Sitzler on Sept. 19, 1981 in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 45 years and a loving father to his sons, Christopher L. Pratte and Dominic Ancona.
Steve had a long, successful career in the nuclear industry, gaining experience at multiple plants before retiring in 1995. Those who knew Steve knew of his unwavering trust in God, his generous spirit, and his dedication to living a life focused on honoring his Christian beliefs.
He enjoyed waking early to study the Bible each morning and writing about the meaning behind the readings. His greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved, drawing in exquisite detail whenever he had the chance, and sharing his faith with family and friends.
Steve is survived by his wife, Cindy Pratte of Boothbay; son Christopher Pratte of Vermont; son Dominic Ancona of Missouri; sister Blinda Shumpert (Barry) of Tennessee; brother Don Klug of North Carolina; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and his dear longtime friend, Keith VanSwerigin of Missouri.
Steve’s memory lives on in the hearts of his wife, sons, family members, friends and all whose lives were touched by his kindness and faith. While he will be deeply missed, his loved ones find peace in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that he is now free of pain and in the presence of the Lord he so faithfully served.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” - Matthew 25:23
May Steven L. Pratte rest in eternal peace.
