Southport General Store celebrates summer solstice with community barbecue, live music, and Father’s Day fun
The Southport General Store invites residents and visitors to welcome the season at solstice on Southport, a festive community gathering celebrating the summer solstice and Father’s Day with great food, live music, local treats, and family-friendly fun.
The event will take place on Sunday, June 21, from 1 to 4 p.m., transforming the Southport General Store courtyard into a lively destination for neighbors, friends, and visitors to gather and enjoy the longest day of the year together.
Guests can savor a classic summer barbecue complete with all the fixings, cool off with handcrafted frozen treats from Blanchard’s Creamery ice cream truck, and enjoy live music from Emmett Lalor & Friends throughout the afternoon.
In addition to food and entertainment, attendees are encouraged to relax with courtyard games, connect with friends and neighbors, and browse special Father’s Day offerings. Visitors can also enjoy 10% off all craft Maine beer and wine purchases.
“Summer in Maine is all about community, connection, and celebrating the simple pleasures of the season,” said the team at Southport General Store. “We’re excited to bring everyone together for an afternoon of great food, music, and fun on one of the most beautiful days of the year.”
