Skidompha Strummers' 'All Beatles' program May 7
The Skidompha Strummers, the ukulele ensemble of Skidompha Public Library, will present a performance of songs by the Beatles on Thursday, May 7 at 4 p.m. in the Porter Meeting Room at the library.
The Beatles wrote and recorded about 190 songs during their career together in the 1960s. The Strummers have chosen 14 of their favorites and a couple of songs that the Beatles recorded but did not write.
The Strummers are ukulele players from the local area who meet at the library every Thursday afternoon. These practices are open to the public. Membership in the group, which was founded in 2017, is open to anyone who has a ukulele and knows some basic chords and strumming patterns. The library has several ukuleles that patrons may be borrow with a Skidompha Library card.
The Skidompha Public Library is located at 184 Main St. in downtown Damariscotta. For more information about the Strummers or Skidompha Public Library, phone the library at 207-887-0919 or visit its website, Skidompha.org.
