Simone E. Brewer
Simone Elaine Brewer, 79, of Freeman Township passed away after a long illness in the comfort of her home at her daughter Tanya and son-in-law Michael’s house on Hancock Pond in Lexington with her family by her side the whole time; Tanya and Mike Morgan, Keith Brewer, Karen Holbrook, Carrie-Ann and Douglas Gould.
She was born on March 1, 1947, in Avon, a daughter of Silas and Rebecca Cook. She spent most of her life on Cook Hill in Freeman Township just below the farm where she grew up. She had a son, Silas Neal Leavitt, in 1965, prior to meeting her husband. In 1972 she married Neil Brewer from Boothbay Harbor. Together they had two children, Keith Brewer and Tanya Morgan.
Simone spent her life working in local mills and then the job she loved the most was waitressing. She enjoyed her customers and meeting new people through the years working at Irving’s Big Stop and Nostalgia Tavern. During the summers, she spent her time with family, camping at the Big Eddy and Natanis Point campground, traveling to Boothbay to see their friends and family, and then the last few years at Hancock Pond with family and friends. Spending time with her family and grandkids always put a smile on her face.
She is survived by her son Keith Brewer and his fiancée Karen Holbrook; daughter Tanya Morgan and her husband Michael; her grandkids Carrie-Ann Gould and son-in-law Douglass Gould, Taylor Lane, Crystal Leavitt, Samantha Leavitt, Donny Leavitt, Maranda Leavitt, Jeremy Brewer, Keri Brewer, Michelle Viger, Heather Viger, Kenny Murphy, and Jacob Leavitt; her brother Everette Cook, who she always enjoyed his baking and bringing her all of her favorite foods as well as his daily phone calls; sister Jessee Poore; daughter-in-law Sandy Leavitt; many nieces and nephews and great-grandkids.
She was predeceased by her parents Silas and Rebecca Cook; brother Raymond Cook; sister Sharleen McGraw; husband Neil Brewer; mother-in-law Carrie Brewer; father-in-law Bo Brewer; granddaughter Michaela Morgan; her very special uncle that she took care of for many years, Leroy “Uncle Bud” Cook; her beloved brothers-in-law, Thurlow “Butch” Brewer, and sister-in-law, Mary Brewer, Wayne Brewer, and Gary Brewer.; Very close and special friends Henry and Carol Abbott. and Ruth Farrin.
The family first would like to give a big special thank you to Karen Holbrook, who Simone thought a lot of and as a daughter-in-law, for helping to care for her for many years, especially her last week and a special thank you to Monica Upson that came on as a PSS and Simone adored her; she looked forward to her coming every day to see her and talk.
The family would also like to thank Taren Bate and Serena Howard of Andwell Hospice for their care.

Simone requested that there be no services. We will be having a gathering later to celebrate her life and all the memories we all shared. The time and date will be announced. In lieu of flowers, Simone requested that a donation be made in memory of her granddaughter, Michaela Morgan, to the Michaela Morgan Scholarship Account, c/o Franklin Somerset Federal Credit Union.
