Senior Night for BRHS pep band, cheerleading and boys basketball held Feb. 2
The senior athletes on the Boothbay Region High School boys varsity basketball and cheerleading teams, along with members of the pep band, were honored in the school’s Senior Night ceremony prior to the boys basketball game against Winthrop High School Monday, Feb. 2.
Each senior was introduced by announcer Skip L’Heureux and coaches Michele Ripley (cheerleading) and Dan Hallinan (boys basketball), as well as band director Mary Miller, presented flowers to each senior, who then presented the flower to those representing them in the bleachers.
“This flower symbolizes the appreciation Boothbay Region High School has for the years of hard work and dedication of our student athletes and the years of support from the people that have helped make their participation possible,” said L’Heureux.
The following is in the order of the presentations.
Pep Band
Alexander Blake, son of Nicole and Jason Blake, has participated in pep band for one season. He plans to attend college after high school. Note: Alexander Blake was not present for the presentation.
Anthony Angelico, son of Betsy Hills, has participated in pep band for three seasons. He plans to enter the workforce after high school.
Kora McKenney, daughter of Amanda Johnson and stepdaughter of Matt Johnson, has been in pep band for one season. She plans to attend Southern Maine Community College.
Abby Orchard, daughter of Jen and Eric Orchard, has been in pep band for four seasons. She plans to attend college to study engineering.
Cheerleaders
Hannah Kreft, daughter of Michael and Amanda Kreft, has participated on the cheering team for three seasons. She plans to attend the University of Maine to study finance.
Sarah Harris, daughter of Medea and Bruce Harris, has participated on the cheering team for four seasons. She plans to attend Georgetown University to study healthcare management and policy, premedical.
Maddie Andreasen, daughter of Nick and Michele Ripley, has participated on the cheering team for four years. She plans to attend a university to study business management and accounting.
Boys Basketball
Spencer Wood, son of Steve Wood and Barbara Wilson, has been a varsity player for one season and been with the program for three seasons. He plans to enter the workforce after high school as a lobsterman and commercial fisherman.
Simeon Bates, son of Terri and Daniel Bates, has been a three-year varsity player and with the program for four seasons. He plans to attend Wheaton College in Illinois to major in nursing.
Harry Hinckley, son of Amy Harkins and Gary Hinckley and stepson to Heidi Hinckley and Adam Harkins, has been a three-year varsity player and with the program for four seasons. He plans to attend Maine Maritime Academy to study marine transportation operations.
