A second chance at defeating the North Yarmouth Academy Panthers didn’t pan out for the Boothbay Region Seahawks as they fell to the visitors for the second time at BRHS, 3-2, in the Class C South tournament semifinal on Wednesday afternoon, June 3.

On May 19, the Panthers also edged the Seahawks, 3-2.

The Seahawks, who finished the season with an overall record of 12-2, lost two singles and one doubles match. Winning their matches were first singles player Alex Ross, defeating NYA’s Liam O’Shea for the second time this season, and the second doubles team of Ronan Drage and Elijah Smith. Drage and Smith battled back to win the final two sets after losing the first set.

The Panthers advanced to face the Waynflete Flyers for the Class C South final. The Flyers defeated NYA twice during the regular season.

For the second straight season, the Seahawks fell in the semifinal, losing to the Flyers in 2025 at home.

The June 3 match was the final match for BRHS seniors Griffin Yereance and Harry Hinckley.
