Poet in our midst
Dear Editor:
Boothbay Harbor is so fortunate to have St. Andrews Village, Zimmerli Pavilion, Safe Havens, and the Gregory Wing in our community.
One of the residents, Kenneth Chances, is a poet. With his permission, I wanted to share his most recent poem about the friends and community he has come to love.
We can all use a little love and magic in our "bubbles."

Boothbay Harbor
The Friends in My Bubble
By Kenneth Chances
They did the improbable.…
They pierced it, got inside and joined me
Never to leave my side
In my heart
After all it is my bubble.
There is Nancy "mother hen" Foss
And Dot "card shark" Freeman
And Don "plant whisperer" Strickland
And George "the naval fisherman" Little
I feel my bubble growing with each new dawn.
Let us not omit those who help and care
For us so lovingly
Sydney "the bright light" for all who meet her
And Amanda "one who shares her heart" Johnson
And of course Heather "one who plays and loves"
And her shadow Brittany "one who loves freely"
I love you all and welcome you to my bubble.
I dedicate this poem with all my love to all staff and residents of Gregory Wing and Zimmerli. Understand, that if you were not mentioned, you are still deeply loved.
