Pastor Steven Nash completes ministry at Boothbay Baptist

Fri, 10/16/2020 - 10:45am

The Rev. Dr. Steven B. Nash has resigned as senior pastor of Boothbay Baptist Church.  He gave notice to the congregation at a business meeting in July and will complete his service on Sunday, Oct. 18.

Pastor Steve and his wife Mary Ann came to Boothbay in 2010 after serving as missionaries for several years in São Paulo, Brazil.  Originally from New Jersey, where they had pastored churches before going on the mission field, they are returning there to be near family and to serve at Lawndale Baptist Church in Philadelphia.

A special church service was held on Sunday, Oct. 4 for Pastor Appreciation and to wish the couple Godspeed and farewell, with many expressing their love and gratitude for ten years of faithful leadership.

The church elders, with assistance from member Alfred Roberts, will handle pulpit supply and other church matters until a new pastor is found. A pulpit search committee has been meeting regularly and is posting the senior pastor position on seminary and other sites throughout the country.
