One law he can’t break
Dear Editor:
Our serial lawbreaker, the 34-felony-count president, has led a charmed life — until now.
Racism? Dad will handle it. Broken contracts? Call Roy. Insurance fraud? Talk to Rudi. Adultery? Call David Pecker. Hush money? Call Michael Cohen. Credit problems? 1 (800) Deutsche Bank. Election tampering? Get Paul Manafort. Soliciting perjury? Rudi’s on it. Supreme Court packing? Mitch has got it. Election fraud? Call Brad. Attack on the U.S. Capitol to overthrow our government? Fox News. Theft of classified government documents? Get Todd on the phone. Immunity from prosecution? Thank-you note to John Roberts. Tax fraud? Knee-cap the IRS. Waste, fraud, and abuse? Fire the IG’s. Create personal militia? Call Kristi. Condone war crimes? Summits with Vlad and Bibi. Evade Epstein scandal? Call Pam. Distract from administration failures? Attack Venezuela and Iran. Isolate the U.S.? Break up NATO. Unconstitutional gerrymandering? Call Greg. Commit war crimes and threaten genocide in a war of choice? A bridge too far; no one can help him now.
The Latin term ‘lex talionis,’ the law of retaliation, derives from the world’s oldest extant legal system: Hammurabi’s Code. At long last, justice and condign punishment loom over our rogue president who boasts, “I can do whatever the hell I want.” A eye for an eye: removal from office and imprisonment for his lies, gratuitous cruelty, and corruption.
