Ocean Point Column: Weather, congratulations and more
As I write this week’s column we are finally experiencing some spring weather for a change. These past weeks have been anything but spring-like; I do hope that the good weather will continue as we move forward into the summer season.
Thanks to the BRWD seasonal water has been turned on and we are grateful for all of their effort in allowing us to return for the season.
Due to the inclement weather that has for the most part been cold and rainy, I’ve noticed many Ocean Pointers are slow in returning; I look forward to reconnecting with all of our residents soon.
Please join me in welcoming the newest members of our community Alice O’Leary and Barry Lacroix from Newbury,Massachusetts. They have recently purchased Dianne Eakin’s cottage.
Congratulations to Matt and Kathy Lindley who have become year round residents of Ocean Point.
Ocean Pointers Mary Rush and Luke Driscoll ran the Boston Marathon last month, congratulations to both on strong finishes. Both trained long and hard all winter for the event and raised a generous amount of money for their individual charity.
Congratulations to Andy Hamblett who will retire after many years as CEO of the Boothbay YMCA. All the best to you as you embark on a new chapter in your life.
Congratulations to Chris Hamblett who is graduating from Emmanuel College in Boston. I understand Chris had several successful years as a member of the lacrosse team. Chris is the son of Andy and Meagan Hamblett.
As was mentioned in last week’s Register Thursday May 7 is the 76th annual National Day of Prayer. I would like to propose that we keep all of our Ocean Point residents who are experiencing medical challenges in our thoughts and prayers and that they all experience a quick and full recovery.
Have a great week!
