Ocean Point Column: Full-force winter and Go Pats!
Winter has certainly descended on us with a vengeance leaving us with heavy snow and plunging temperatures -- even our snowbirds are experiencing some of the same weather issues.
All of this extreme weather has me counting the days until summer and our return to Ocean Point.
The beauty of Ocean Point in winter is not lost on us as several of our Ocean Point friends continue to post pictures as a reminder of how peaceful and picturesque our community is despite some harsh conditions.
I was happy to read that the bell at the East Boothbay Methodist Church has been repaired and is now in good working order. I recently read that the church is also serving lunch to community members; Ocean Pointer’s Lanny Whitehouse and John Waldman are assisting in this effort.
All of Patriots Nation is over the moon that our team is going to the Super Bowl! What an accomplishment by a team who during preseason was predicted to win 4-5 games and ends their season as AFC champions. They have certainly lived up to their rally cry,”We all we got, we all we need.” If you have not had the opportunity to view their send off rally you can catch it on You Tube; it was electrifying.
Unfortunately, the groundhog saw his shadow this morning, I guess we are in for six more weeks of winter!
Stay safe and warm and enjoy the Super Bowl. Go Pats!
Have a great week.
