News and notes from the Community Center
We are in need of transfer wheelchairs to lend to residents who need them. These are popular items and they come in and go out quickly for use by our neighbors. If you have one that isn't being used, please consider donating it to the Durable Medical Equipment program. Thanks!
Our volunteer Pam Utley is looking forward to teaching Mah Jong. The class is limited to four students. So PLEASE! If you want to take lessons, just give us a call and when we have enough students, we’ll let her know. Lessons will be on Mondays between noon and 2 p.m.
And Glady Bean continues with her cribbage lessons on Wednesdays at 11 a.m.
A reminder that Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, Nov. 1. Turn your clocks back one hour before going to bed.
Here's another kitchen "hack": When you want to pour oil/grease out of a pan, let it cool a bit, then pour it into a heat-resistant cup that has a bit of water in it. After the grease becomes hard, you can easily remove it from the cup and dispose of it.
Bakers get ready! Our popular and delicious pie sale is coming on Tuesday Nov. 24 - just in time for Thanksgiving. We always appreciate your help providing us with a great selection of pies in time for the holiday. Call us at 633-9876 and let us know if you will be baking something for our sale. Thank you!
