Looking for good company and a warm welcome these cold winter days? Stop by the Community Center any weekday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for puzzles, games, coffee, tea, and sweet treats! Bring your ideas, share a few laughs, and help us enjoy our snacks – without overindulging! We love welcoming new faces and hope to see you soon.
Do you have a few extra hours? Want to help your friends and neighbors who can't drive? Our People Helping People program helps those who can't drive by taking them shopping and to appointments. Volunteer as your time permits - once a week, once every two weeks or a few hours. P-L-E-A-S-E consider becoming a volunteer driver. You can volunteer to drive as much or as little as you'd like. If you need help with filing taxes, Midcoast CA$H (An Initiative of United Way of Mid Coast Maine) will help you file your taxes for free! Households earning up to $69,000 annually can likely receive free tax preparation by an IRS-certified volunteer tax preparer. By appointment only. Right now we are in need of shower chairs and wheelchairs. We have lots of other durable medical equipment and are happy to provide it to anyone who needs it at no charge. If you have equipment that you aren’t using, please bring it to us and we’ll pass it along to folks who can use it.
