Mountain Valley one-hits Boothbay baseball

Mountain Valley pitcher Kegan Jordan allowed one hit in five innings May 11 as the Falcons defeated Boothbay, 10-0, in a five-inning game. The Falcons scored twice in the first, two more in the third and three each in innings four and five.
Jordan struck out seven and walked one. Boothbay's one hit came from Les White with a single. Boothbay pitcher Casey Phelps pitched four innings, allowed five hits, seven runs (four earned), struck out eight and walked two. Blake Durgan pitched the fifth inning, allowed two hits and three earned runs, and walked 3-3.
Boothbay falls to 1-6 in Mountain Valley Conference action. Mountain Valley improves to 5-2. The Seahawks' next game is Wednesday, May 13 versus Oak Hill (3-5) in Wales.
