Memorial Library and St. Andrews Village to host Conversation Cafe
In a time when so many things can feel like they divide us, looking for connections can be difficult. Generational divides can be especially hard to overcome. Phrases like “OK, Boomer” and “Ugh, Millennials” have become part of mainstream vernacular. Seeing what you might have in common with someone decades older or younger than you can seem impossible.
To help bridge these generational divides, Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library and St. Andrews Village are teaming up to host an intergenerational Conversation Cafe. Join us on Saturday, May 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the Library for conversations that will focus on finding connections with others, regardless of age.
You will be paired with a small group of participants in different decades of life to answer prompts, share stories, and find things you have in common. Participants aged 14 and older are invited to join. Our hope is to have someone to represent each decade so spread the word and bring a friend.
Snacks and drinks will be provided. You can also enter to win raffle door prizes provided by St. Andrews Village! Come away with a better understanding of people in different decades of life. Who knows—you might even make a new friend!
