Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: 3 accidents in Edgecomb
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 390 calls for service for the period of July 29 to Aug. 5. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 8,647 calls for service.
Summonses
A 17-year-old male juvenile from Dresden was issued a summons July 30 for Assault on an Officer and Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, on Gardiner Road, Dresden, by Sgt. Kevin Dennison.
Jimmy Wilson, 28, of Lewiston was issued a summons July 31 for Unlawful Sexual Contact, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Detective Jared Mitkus.
Gavin J. Young, 20, of Newcastle was issued a summons July 31 for Criminal Mischief, on Hopkins Hill Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Jeffrey Rogers.
Matthew Graham, 20, of Westport Island was issued two summonses Aug. 2, one for Operating a Vehicle without a License and another for Failure to Register Vehicle, on Oak Run Road, Westport Island, by Deputy Nathan Yeaton
Michael Ahearn, 36, of Augusta was issued a summons Aug. 2 for Habitual Motor Vehicle Offender, on Hunts Meadow Road, Whitefield, by Sgt. Kevin Dennison,
Arrest
Brooke A. Burnham, 29, of Bristol was arrested Aug. 1 on a Lincoln County District Court warrant for Failure to Appear on a Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer charge, on Waldoboro Road, Bremen, by Deputy Mark Fortin.
Accidents
On July 29, an accident occurred on Pleasant Cove Road in Boothbay involving Bonita L. Ginger, 80, of Boothbay and Aiden G. Olsen, 20, of Boothbay. Ms. Ginger was operating her 2009 Toyota Corolla northbound and attempted to make a U-turn in the road to head back towards Pension Ridge Road. Mr. Olsen was operating his 2021 Chevrolet Bolt E behind Ginger’s vehicle and proceeded to pass her. Ms. Ginger did not see Olsen passing and struck the center of the passenger side of Olsen’s vehicle. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.
On July 29, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Xavier E. Sheerin, 21, of Pittsfield. Mr. Sheerin was operating his 2025 Kawasaki Ninja northbound in the construction zone, when he swerved to avoid a street sweeper on the side of the road. As a result, he hit the unfinished edge of the new pavement and began to wobble. He was unable to regain control and crashed his motorcycle. Deputy Caleb Poirer was the investigating officer.
On July 30, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Jessica M. Winslow, 37, of West Gardiner. Ms. Winslow was operating her 2009 Chevrolet Impala northbound when she lost control of her vehicle. As a result, she crossed the centerline, went off the roadway to the left, down the embankment and sideswiped a tree, before coming to rest. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.
On July 31, an accident occurred on Heath Road in Whitefield involving Kasey M. Cromwell, 29, of Whitefield. Ms. Cromwell was operating her 2011 Mercury Milan northbound, when she advised she was not paying attention and went off the roadway on the right. Her vehicle then struck some trees and rocks and then an embankment. Sgt. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On July 31, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Chloe L. Day-Lynch, 19, of Lincolnville. Ms. Day-Lynch was operating her 2013 Volkwagen Jetta northbound when she lost control and veered off of the roadway before re-entering the roadway and traveling across two lanes of traffic. Her vehicle came to a stop after a collision with a ditch off the southbound lane of Route 1. Deputy Brandon Maciuba was the investigating officer.
