Within the Whale: Spring Break Edition
Saturday, April 18 at Bigelow (registration required)
Chunk the life-sized inflatable whale returns to the Boothbay Peninsula! The Library is partnering with the Boothbay Region Land Trust and Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences for this opportunity to venture Within the Whale. Join us on Saturday, April 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences at 60 Bigelow Drive, East Boothbay for this unique, family-friendly experience. The event is free and open to the public. However, to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees, pre-registration for a specific timed entry is required. Tide Pool Adventures
Wednesday, April 22 at Boothbay Sea and Science Center
BHML will team up with Boothbay Sea and Science Center for a morning of Tide Pool Adventures on Wednesday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. This free Spring Break program invites families to explore the local coastline and engage in maritime-themed activities. The event will be held at the Boothbay Sea and Science Center’s campus at 12 Carter Road, East Boothbay. Designed for children of all ages, participants will explore tide pools, listen to ocean-themed stories, learn knot-tying, and create coastal crafts at various interactive stations.
Shark Story Time
Friday, April 24 at BHML
Friday Story Time will feature an extra special guest on Friday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m. in BHML’s Children’s Room. Dottie Yunger from the Maine State Aquarium will join us for shark-themed stories and a special craft project. She will bring along shark biofacts like teeth for our young readers to explore!
Earth Day Fest
Saturday, April 25, Library Lawn
Join us for Earth Day Fest on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Library Lawn at 4 Oak Street, Boothbay Harbor. This free community event is fun for all ages and will feature games, crafts, and learning all afternoon with our community partners. We will be joined by Bigelow Laboratory, Boothbay Region Clean Drinking Water Initiative, Boothbay Region Climate Action Team, Boothbay Region Land Trust, Boothbay Sea & Science Center, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Healthy Lincoln County, Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District, Maine State Aquarium, Neighborhood Naturalist, & Pollination Station.
