Judith D. Chapman
Judith Dianne Gaudette Chapman, 81, went home to be with the Lord, her savior, on Oct. 29, 2025. Judith suffered with Lewy body dementia for the past 25 years that led to her passing.
Judith was born in Lewiston, Maine on April 18, 1944 and raised on the island of Southport just outside of Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
She served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps from 1962 to 1964. She returned home and eventually married and started raising her girls.
Judith moved to Jacksonville, Florida in September 1982. She met her husband, Ray Roberts Chapman, and they were married April 30, 1983.
Ray, Judith and great-granddaughter Noelle are members of Lannie Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida.
Services will be held at the church on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. and officiated by her husband Ray and Noelle. A social gathering and celebration will be held in the social building following the church service.
Interment of Judith’s ashes at the National Cemetery in Jacksonville will be on Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. with full military honors. Interment ceremonies will be attended and officiated by Pastor Richard Wimber Sr. (Buddy) and his wife Angela along with family members.
Judith is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ray R. Chapman; daughter Cynthia Lynn Motil (William Motil); grandsons Jay-Rey Rivera (Amanda), Adam Rivera; daughter Sarah Jane Woodbury; grandson Joshua Ray Woodbury-Phipps (Kyle); granddaughter Gwendalynn Ida Chapman (Joshua Rice); great-granddaughter Noelle Ruby Chapman.
Judith was predeceased by her father and mother, Paul and Gwendolyn Gaudette and her brother, Norman Gaudette.
