MaineHealth Urgent Care Boothbay Harbor shifts to seasonal schedule beginning Dec. 7
MaineHealth Urgent Care Boothbay Harbor, located on the MaineHealth Saint Andrews Campus, will soon be adopting a seasonal schedule of operation.
Effective Dec. 7, Urgent Care will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday until May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day), when it will be open seven days a week but keep the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule. On Labor Day, the fall-winter schedule will resume.
Patients in need of care for non-emergencies can choose from MaineHealth Walk-in Care Damariscotta from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and MaineHealth Walk-in Care Brunswick from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., when the Boothbay location is closed.
Urgent Care will continue to observe Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day holidays.
MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital President Cindy Wade, RN, BSN, MHA, said data shows a drop in Urgent Care use in the fall and winter. “We need to ensure our staff is delivering care in an efficient and cost-effective manner,’’ Wade said.
Wade said there are no immediate plans to change operating hours on the MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital or St. Andrews campuses. She pointed to recent investments in upgraded diagnostic imaging equipment at the Urgent Care facility as a commitment to providing services in Boothbay Harbor.
“The way we provide services across the coastal region is being thoroughly evaluated amid the current landscape,” Wade said. “We are driven by our desire to ensure our local communities have access to high-quality, patient-centered care for years to come.”
Wade said there were no layoffs associated with the change in Urgent Care hours.
