Edgecomb students learn about gardening

Edgecomb students enjoy fall gardening and applying math and literacy concepts learned in the classroom. Sarah Currier's fourth grade class is thankful this season for Beth Jarvis from the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and their generosity and support in our classroom and our school gardens!
Students in Edgecomb grades 4 and 6 also enjoyed learning about vermiculture, worm composting and red wigglers with a visit from Mainleywombins, and got to assemble and keep their own classroom bins!
The Edgecomb School looks forward to bringing in Edgecomb community members, and guests from the Boothbay Region Garden Club and Rotary Club to work with students in the spring.
Students are amazed! Who knew gardening wasn't just for summer!
