Early Childhood Education & Resource Night May 21
The AOS98 Special Services Department is hosting an "Early Childhood Education & Resource Night" at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens on Thursday, May 21, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
This event is designed to bring families from Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Southport, Edgecomb and Georgetown together in a beautiful setting to learn about child development and the wealth of resources available in our region. Food will be provided. Parking is available at the Bosarge Family Education Center parking lot, which is the first right upon entering the driveway
The landscape of early childhood special education in Maine is changing. AOS98 is taking on an expanded role in "Child Find" responsibilities and the provision of services for children ages 3–5. Our goal for this event is threefold: 1.) Educate: Help families understand milestones in "normal" child development from birth through age five. 2.) Inform: Clarify the new role AOS98 plays in supporting preschool-aged children and the ongoing "Child Find" process. 3.) Connect: Provide a space where families can interact with one another and discover the incredible community resources available to them when they have questions or concerns.
We would like to thank the following community partners who will be joining us for this collaborative night: Child Development Services, LincolnHealth, Help Me Grow, Center for Teaching and Learning, Kimmie’s Kids and BRYMCA/Harbor Montessori.
