Defacing a street sign
Dear Editor:
It is disturbing that the opposition to President Trump has led to vandalizing street signs. The Kings Highway in the Sheepscott Village, Newcastle is historically one of the oldest streets in Maine. Most of the residents that live on The Kings Highway are retired. One would think they would be happy that President Trump has led Congress to legislate no tax on Social Security. Defacing a public sign is not becoming of residents that should know better.
The “NO Kings Highway” sign has had the NO removed. The sign now reads what historically early Mainers wanted. The movement to rewrite or change history needs to stop. Unfortunately, there are some that live on The Kings Highway that are suffering from Trump Disarrangement Syndrome. You can’t talk to these people or even try to reason with them. It is sad as a nation that we have come to this.
The messaging coming out of Washington continues to fuel this nonstop disinformation and violence. Thankfully, the Gen Z generation is not buying into what their grandparents believe and are on board with Making America Great Again.
