Community Lunch has evolved
Monday’s Community Lunch hosted by Spruce Point Inn was an enormous hit with many new faces in the crowd. Over 120 arrived to enjoy Ben Bickford’s meatloaf, mashed potato, gravy, rolls, and cheesecake for dessert. Lunch coordinator Tancy Mitchell and volunteers met after the lunch to see how it could be improved upon and have asked these simple things could really make the lunch go very smoothly and improve the guest’s experience.
-
First, please be respectful of Port’s Pizza and their parking. Although you may only be in that spot for less than an hour, it is still their spot. We do realize many guests believed they were closed on Monday, hence the confusion. They are open Mondays, closed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
-
Please leave parking spaces closer to the restaurant for those who are older. Be like Howard Wright and park at the Opera House!
-
When you arrive at Brady’s, please find a seat! This will eliminate looking for one after you have your meal.
-
Please allow our volunteers to get your beverages! They are here to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of. They need to make sure to know where you are seated in order to bring it to you. Please do not serve yourself or ask multiple people for a beverage. Pretend you are actually out to eat ... because you are!
-
We ask if you are not on a time restraint to please let those on their lunch break go first. We always have plenty of food!
-
We do not serve alcohol at Community Lunch.
-
We respectfully ask you to not save seats. It is Community Lunch, not the Yacht Club, and what better way to meet new people!
