Boothbay’s top girls tennis player over the past four years, Laura Chapman, who has not lost a Mountain Valley match over that time, and fellow senior Ivory Cody, a two-year player for the Seahawks, were honored before the team’s final home match of the season against Spruce Mountain on Wednesday, May 14.
Both players were introduced by coach Alex Arsenault and presented flowers.
Cody, daughter of David Cody and Kate Sullivan Cody, plans to attend the University of Southern Maine to study education.
Chapman, daughter of Kristie Chapman, plans to take a gap year before continuing her education, “but she plans to continue to play tennis during that time,” said Arsenault.
The Seahawks went on to defeat Spruce Mountain, 4-1.
