Burnt Island Light is once again open for the season! After some unavoidable delays in getting to the island to clean up after a long winter, the island is looking beautiful and ready to welcome visitors.

The season is already off to a wonderful start. We recently hosted families participating in the Battle of the Bays at the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, as well as two overnight expedition groups from AOS 98. It's always rewarding to see people of all ages exploring the island, discovering its history, and enjoying its remarkable natural setting. We also hosted a reporting team from Boston’s ABC TV affiliate that is doing a story on the Boothbay Harbor Region!

If you've never visited Burnt Island Light, this is a wonderful summer to experience one of the region's most treasured landmarks. Balmy Days Cruises offers trips to the island several times each week, making it easy to explore the lighthouse, trails, and spectacular coastal scenery.

The Keepers of Burnt Island Light is always looking for new volunteers. Whether you're interested in greeting visitors on the island or sharing specialized skills behind the scenes, we'd love to hear from you. And, as a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generosity of our community to help preserve the island, maintain its historic structures, and provide scholarships so students can experience Burnt Island's unique educational programs.
