Dear Editor:

As the president of the board of the keepers of the Burnt Island Light, KBIL, I would like to announce our upcoming on-island open house, through the Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours program on the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 20, just a few weeks away.

We are very excited to be able to hold a festive event like this after many years of sparse activity on the island. We are partnering with Balmy Days Cruises on this event, and attendees will learn about both organizations..

This is just an initial announcement, there will be advertisements in the paper, on social media, and by email. But for now, anyone reading this should save the date, Aug. 20, as more details will come.
