With sunny skies overhead, a light coastal breeze and temperatures in the mid-70s, it was an absolutely beautiful day for some racing on Saturday.

Wiscasset Speedway brought the heat to the coast, hosting an action-packed Group 2 program that included the weekly T&L Automotive Modifieds, Portland Glass Strictly Streets, Dale's Cash Fuel Roadrunners, the visiting Ladies Acceleration Tour and double features for the Wood Pellet Warehouse Late Models.

The Late Models were the spotlight division of the night and veteran driver David Getchell led the field to green in the first feature. He maintained command of the field until lap 13, where a red flag for a Randy Barker and Frank Moulton collision brought the field back together. Division rookie Ashton Burgess got the jump on the restart, but Brett Osmond snuck in to take it away on lap 19. A late-race caution brought the field together with 7 laps to go and Brett Osmond got the upper hand on the restart while Daniel Harding powered into the runner-up spot. Osmond held onto it, scoring his first win of the season while Daniel Harding and Ashton Burgess (1st career Late Model top 3) rounded out the podium.

Brent Roy jumped out to the early lead in the second feature, but Will Collins was quickly knocking on his door, overtaking the top spot on lap 5 while Alex Waltz and Jon Emerson filed in behind him. Jon Emerson continued to climb the leaderboard in the laps that followed, claiming the runner-up spot on lap 16. Daniel Harding roared to life in the second half of the race, breaking the top 3 before stealing the runner-up spot away with just 10 laps to go. He was unable to catch Will Collins, who snapped his 1-year winless streak in the division. Jon Emerson followed, completing the top 3.

"June Driver of the Month" David Greenleaf won the qualifying heat for the T&L Automotive Modifieds, but it was Reed Reno that took off with the advantage in the 30-lap feature. There was a 3-way battle for second in the opening laps of the race, with multi-time champion Adam Chadbourne claiming the spot. With just 2 laps to go, Chadbourne lost the handling on the backstretch and took a spin, resulting in a caution. Reed Reno successfully held off David Greenleaf and Chuck Colby on the restart, scoring another win in the division.

Dylan York held the early lead in the 25-lap feature for the Roadrunners, but he was involved in a 3-car collision on lap 3. The field remained green while Gavin Gerow claimed the top spot. He maintained his lead throughout numerous late-race cautions, picking up his second consecutive win in the division. In a thrilling finish, drivers were 3-wide for second coming to the finish line. Jason Sears held off the competition, scoring his career-best finish. Defending champion Kyle Enman followed, rounding out the podium.

Jody Rose led the field to green in the 20-lap Ladies Acceleration Tour feature. Chrissy Rizzuto took a spin on turn 1, resulting in an early caution. Jody Rose and Dalaney Dunn squared up on the restart and Dunn made a bold dive to the inside on lap 7, overtaking the top spot while Karigan Glasier followed in succession. Dalaney Dunn maintained her advantage as the laps wound down, scoring her first career win at Wiscasset Speedway as well as the "Queen of the Oval" Triple Crown honors for the tour's Hornets division. Karigan Glasier and Jody Rose followed, completing the top 3.

Dan Morton kicked off his day with his first heat win in over 25 years of racing, but it was Scott Eck that powered to the early lead in the extended 30-lap feature for the Portland Glass Strictly Streets. Multiple cautions in the opening laps of the race led to a start-stop effect in the racing action, but Eck remained strong at the top of the leaderboard. The leaders began to catch lap traffic in the closing laps of the race, but Scott Eck was able to edge out Landon Tapley for his first feature victory in 3 years. Dan Trask completed the top 3, ending his 6-year podium drought.

Wiscasset Speedway hopes to keep the memories coming as they honor their 2025 Hall of Fame inductees on Super Street 100 night next Saturday, July 26. The green flag flies at 5 p.m.
