Boothbay/Wiscasset Boys' Track & Field finish third at MVC meet
The Boothbay/Wiscasset Boys' Track and Field team finished third May 4 in an eight-team Mountain Valley Conference meet in Lisbon. Boothbay/Wiscasset scored 88 points. Lisbon/Oak Hill won with 118 points. Kents Hill finished second with 82.
Boothbay/Wiscasset's Ben Gapski won three events: 110M, 300M and triple jump. Boothbay/Wiscasset 's Logan Bourne won the shot put.
In the 100M dash, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Isaac Fanslau finished third with a 12.32 second mark. Winthrop's Lucas Rice finished first with an 11.93. In the 200M, Fanslau finished second with a 24.4 second mark. Rice finished first with a 24.12. In the 400M dash, Fanslau finished third with a 55.08 second time. Winthrop's Alfie Cognata won with a 53.45.
In the 800M run, Boothbay/Wiscasset placed two runners in the top six. Louie Caidoc finished fourth with a two-minute, 18.63 second time. Ethan Clark finished sixth with a 2:23.65. Winthrop's Sam St. Germain finished first with a 2:11.49. In the 1600M run, Boothbay/Wiscasset had two runners in the top six. AJ Crocker finished fifth a five-minute, 12.3 second time. Clark finished sixth with a 5:12.34. Lisbon/Oak Hill's Malachi Ganong won with a 5:02.63.
In the 3200M, Crocker finished second with an 11-minute, 25.43 second mark. Madison's Craig Paine won with a 10:42.1. In the 100M hurdles, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Ben Gapski won with a 18.35 second mark. In the 300M, Gapski won with a 46.68 second mark. In the 4X100M relay, Boothbay/Wiscasset finished second with a 48.11 second time. Winthrop won with a 47.7. In the 4X800M relay, Boothbay/Wiscasset finished third with a 10-minute, 26.8 second mark. Buckfield won with a 9:29.0.
In the high jump, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Chase Carver finished fourth with a five-foot, two-inch mark. Lisbon/Oak Hill won with a 5-08. In the triple jump, Gapski won with a 41-foot, 5.5-inch mark. In the shot put, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Logan Bourne won with a 37-foot, nine-inch throw. Boothbay/Wiscasset's Lysander Lefevre finished fifth with a 36-0.
In the 1600M race walk, Boothbay/Wiscasset had three walkers in the top five. Ross Gaffney finished second with a seven-minute, 53.23 second time. Nathan Percival finished third with a 9:02.08. Jackson Zehm finished fifth with a 9:13.78. In javelin, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Aron Geddes finished sixth with a 124-foot, 8-inch throw. Winthrop's Jacob Feith won with a 176-04.
The team's next meet is Tuesday, May 12 at the Wiscasset Middle High School track.
