The Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund (BRSAF) is pleased to announce the election of five new trustees to its Board of Directors. The new trustees bring experience in education, college admissions, military service, public service, and community leadership, further strengthening BRSAF's mission of helping Boothbay Region students pursue education and training beyond high school. 

"We are delighted to welcome these outstanding individuals to the Board," said Board President Louise Cowan. "Each brings valuable experience, a strong commitment to our community, and a shared passion for helping local students achieve their educational goals." 

Among those joining the board is Lesley Blethen, a Boothbay Region High School graduate, member of the school's 1984 girls state championship basketball team, U.S. Army veteran, and former postmaster of the Boothbay Harbor Post Office. Her lifelong connection to the Boothbay region and decades of public service reflect BRSAF's commitment to community leadership. 

Also joining the board is Jane Hahn, founder of My College Advocate, who brings decades of experience in college admissions and counseling, helping students identify the educational opportunities that best fit their goals and successfully navigate the college planning process. Her expertise will help strengthen BRSAF's understanding of the evolving landscape of post-secondary education.

Peggy Splaine has dedicated her career and community service to supporting young people through education, youth athletics, and service on local and state school boards. Her experience working with children with developmental disabilities and her longstanding commitment to Boothbay Region students bring a thoughtful and compassionate perspective to the BRSAF Board. 

Lisa Clarke is a Boothbay Region High School graduate and retired teacher and school administrator whose family has personally benefited from BRSAF's mission. Lisa’s career in education brings a firsthand appreciation for BRSAF's impact and a valuable perspective to the board. 

Lenore Imhof, a lifelong educator and former fourth-grade teacher at Boothbay Region Elementary School, coaches swimming at the Boothbay Region YMCA. She brings decades of educational experience and a deep commitment to helping young people succeed. 

For more than 60 years, BRSAF has provided need-based grants to qualifying Boothbay Region High School graduates pursuing education and training beyond high school. Through the generosity of its donors and the leadership of its volunteer Board of Directors, BRSAF has helped generations of local students pursue their educational goals.
