We’re looking to May now, so hopefully winter has truly left us! The “I love a mystery book club” group met all through the winter, and showed up to meet despite spring snowstorms (which can be particularly demoralizing).
For March we chose to read “The Intruder” by Freida McFadden. By day the author is a dedicated physician specializing in traumatic brain injuries; by night, under the pen name Freida McFadden, she turns into a prolific author, crafting psychological thrillers that captivate readers world wide.
Her work has been selected as one of Amazon's best books of the year. She is the winner of the International Award for Best Paper Back and a Good Readers Choice Award. Seventeen million copies of her books have been sold and translated into more than 45 languages.
McFadden keeps her personal life private, doesn't do book signings and is often disguised during her infrequent interviews.
For April the club read “Anatomy of an Alibi” by Ashley Elston. There were 19 in attendance to discuss this read and no one saw the end coming!
Ashley Elston writes mysteries, heartfelt young adult stories and smart psychological thrillers that are often set in small towns that might feel like home while routed in the heat and humidity of Louisiana. Her first book was sent to 86 agents before it was picked up and sold to Disney Hyperion. It became an instant success and for her an unexpected rise to fame. Elston has written six young adult and two adult thrillers to date. This book is highly recommended.
Happy reading mystery lovers.
