Appreciates Coulombe
Dear Editor:
I am writing to share my heartfelt gratitude to Paul Coulombe, whose compassion and swift support almost certainly saved my father’s life. My father, battling advanced congestive heart failure, was failing quickly while facing a two-month wait for a life saving medical device — time he simply did not have. In desperation, I reached out to Mr. Coulombe, whom I have known to be a caring and knowledgeable member of the Boothbay community. He immediately connected my father with providers at the Maine Medical Cardiac Center who expertly assessed the urgency of my father’s situation and responded with life saving intervention. Paul’s kindness and the responsive care of the Cardiac Center gave my family hope when we feared we were out of options and stabilized my father’s health.
This moment of compassion reflects a larger story of Paul’s life in Maine that is worthy of recognition. From helping out local organizations like the ambulance service and the YMCA, to preserving historic landmarks in the area Paul has continually invested in Maine’s people and places. His efforts have created jobs, saved treasured buildings, and strengthened vital institutions like Maine Med. My family will never forget what Paul did for my father and what he has done for our community. We are so grateful for his generous spirit and true commitment to the well-being of his community.
