Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: 4 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 383 calls for service for the period of Sept. 9 to Sept. 16. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 10,712 calls for service.
Summonses
George Bronn, 47, of Whitefield was issued summonses Sept. 9 for Driving to Endanger; Failing to Make Oral or Written Accident Report; Violating Condition of Release (x4), at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset. by Deputy Brandon Maciuba, who was assisted by Deputy Ethan Burns. These summonses were issued after an investigation into a vehicle accident which occurred on 09/04/25.
Donald C. McKay, 65, of Edgecomb was issued a summons Sept. 10 for Operating after Suspension – Prior Convictions, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Brandon Maciuba.
A 17-year-old female juvenile from Boothbay Harbor was issued a summons Sept. 11 for Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, on Townsend Avenue, Boothbay Harbor, by BBH Officer Strout, on behalf of Deputy Jeffrey Rogers.
Joseph T. Adams, 33, of Warren was issued a summons Sept. 11 for Failure to Register Vehicle, on Winslow Mills Road, Waldoboro, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.
Arrests
Patrick J. Griffin III, 50, of Boynton Beach, Florida was arrested Sept. 10 for Operating under the Influence, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.
Alan J. McLaughlin, 78, of Newcastle was arrested Sept. 11 on a Lincoln County warrant for Failure to Appear on an Operating After Suspension charge, on Main Street, Damariscotta, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.
Michael P. Mace, 49, of Edgecomb was arrested Sept. 12 for Violating Condition of Release, on Route 1, Edgecomb, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.
Kevin Wenzel, 26, of Wiscasset was arrested Sept. 12 for Operating under the Influence – 1 Prior and Operating Vehicle without License, on Indian Road, Dreden, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.
Accidents
On Sept. 9, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Bremen involving Terry J. Lufkin, 64, of Warren. Mr. Lufkin was operating his 2015 Toyota Corolla southbound when a deer ran out in front of him and was struck, causing front and hood damage to his vehicle. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 9, an accident occurred on Main Street in Newcastle involving Shelby G. Robbins, 31, of Nobleboro and Michael Gardiner, 60, of South Portland. Ms. Robbins was operating her 2020 Chevrolet Trax westbound and Mr. Gardiner was stopped in his 2023 Volvo S90 at the stop sign on Main Street, at the intersection of Mills Road. Mr. Gardiner’s sight of the roadway was obstructed by a large truck. When Mr. Gardiner attempted to proceed from the stop sign, his vehicle struck the driver’s side corner of Robbins’ vehicle, causing disabling damage to the wheel well. Mr. Gardiner’s front bumper was torn off, but vehicle was operable. Deputy Brandon Maciuba was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 9, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Peter N. Leach, 45, of Barhamsville, Virginia. Mr. Leach was operating his 2013 Chevrolet northbound when he stated he felt his front tire begin to wobble and he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle went off the roadway to the right and into a ditch, when his vehicle then crossed a driveway and rolled over, coming to rest upright. Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 9, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Jefferson involving Kevin W. Benner, 59, of Friendship. Mr. Benner was operating his 2022 Ford F250 eastbound when a deer ran in front of him and was struck, causing front end damage to his vehicle. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 10, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Donald C. McKay, 65, of Edgecomb and Carol S. Smith, 92, of Boothbay Harbor. Mr. McKay was operating his 1999 Dodge Ram 150 northbound and Ms. Smith was stopped at the stop sign at River Road in her 2022 Mazda CX5 before proceeding through the intersection. As a result, Mr. McKay struck the front driver’s side quarter panel and door of Smith’s vehicle. Both vehicles suffered disabling damage. Deputy Brandon Maciuba was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 12, an accident occurred on Indian Road in Dresden involving Kevin Wenzel, 26, of Wiscasset. Mr. Wenzel was operating his 2008 Ford Escape westbound when he stated he swerved to avoid a deer and went off the roadway on the left. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 13, an accident occurred on Academy Hill in Newcastle involving Timothy F. Bishop, 64, of Newcastle and Robert A. Poland, 57, of Waldoboro. Mr. Poland was backing his 2018 Chevrolet Colorado into a driveway when Mr. Bishop, who was operating his 2022 Nissan Frontier northbound, struck the front end of Poland’s vehicle, causing it to strike a telephone pole. Mr. Bishop’s vehicle then went off the roadway on the right side and struck a ditch. Deputy Nathan Yeaton was the investigating officer.
