Harbor Theater and Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library Partner for Minecraft Events

On Friday May 16 at 7 p.m., “A Minecraft Movie” opens at Harbor Theater. In anticipation of the film, Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library is offering a Board Game Night on Friday May 16th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. where participants can game before they see the movie.

After gaming at the library, families can see “A Minecraft Movie” on opening night with the Family Free Pass deal! Families are eligible to reserve one free adult ticket and one free child’s ticket online for the Friday night May 16th show only. If families have not already reserved their free passes before the library gaming events, library staff can help them sign up online before attending the movie.

Not only can families play games then see the movie, but they can also receive a raffle ticket to win a free Minecraft prize at Friday night’s movie! Sherman’s Bookstore in Boothbay Harbor has donated two Minecraft Magnetic Travel Puzzles as raffle prizes.

In the world of Minecraft, creativity doesn't just help you craft, it's essential to one's survival! Four misfits find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they'll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Jack Black). Together, their adventure will challenge them to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative... the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.

“A Minecraft Movie” continues at Harbor Theater on Saturday, May 17 at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 18 at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 21 at 2 p.m., and Thursday, May 22 at 7 p.m.
