Seahawks nip Raiders again
For the second time in eight days, the Boothbay Region High School girls varsity basketball team edged the Oak Hill High School Raiders by one point. On Friday, Jan. 31 at Wales, the Seahawks overcame a 24-21 deficit heading into the fourth quarter and came away with a 31-30 victory.
Leading the way once again for Boothbay was junior Tatum French who scored 19 points. She scored 24 against Oak Hill at BRHS on Jan. 23 in the Seahawks' 41-40 victory.
Senior Maddie Orchard added eight points for the now 4-13 Seahawks.
The game was the last of the season for the Raiders who finished 3-15. Mackenzie Wardwell led Oak Hill with nine points, followed by Kendall Theriault with eight.
The Seahawks' last game of the season will be at Lisbon (0-17) on Tuesday, Feb. 4. Boothbay defeated Lisbon, 53-19, at home Dec. 10.
