The Monhegan Memorial Library, at 1 Library Lane, will welcome Peter Brown for our Sixth Distinguished Writers Series. An author and illustrator, Peter Brown has created numerous books for children, including New York Times bestsellers like “The Curious Garden” and “Mr. Tiger Goes Wild.” His 2016 novel “Wild Robot” was adapted into a film by DreamWorks Animation last year. His latest release, “Wild Robot on the Island,” tells the story in picture book form with the big colorful illustrations Brown is known for.

On Aug. 2, Brown will hold a Craft Talk for fellow creatives at the Monhegan Memorial Library at 10 a.m. (advance registration required). At 7 p.m., he will deliver his Keynote (for all ages) followed by a book signing at the Monhegan Community Church (suggested donation $10). The Distinguished Writers Series was founded in 2016 and most recently hosted Morgan Talty.
