Mobius, Inc. will sponsor “A Hole Lotta Good,” a community cornhole tournament, on Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Nobleboro Little League Field on Route 1. Organizers are preparing for what promises to be one of Midcoast Maine’s biggest and liveliest cornhole events of the summer. The event is presented by Wicked Cornhole.
This is a fundraiser for Mobius, Inc. Every dollar raised stays close to home, helping preserve essential services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Midcoast Maine. When our community comes together to support Mobius, we are investing in a stronger, more inclusive future for our neighbors, friends, and families.
Registration begins at 10 a.m., with bags flying at 10:30 a.m. The tournament will feature two-person teams competing in four rounds of round-robin play before advancing to a double-elimination bracket. Teams are encouraged to register by Friday, Aug. 21 through the Scoreholio app or website by searching for “A Whole Lotta Good.”
Early registration is recommended before the tournament brackets fill. The registration fee is $60 per team. The first-place team will take home $500, and the second-place team will receive $200.
Players should bring their own partners, but anyone who needs a teammate is encouraged to attend. Organizers will do their best to match individual players.
Tournament experience is not required. Backyard champions, family-cookout competitors, and first-time players are all welcome.
“Whether you are a seasoned cornhole player or someone who has only tossed a few bags at a family cookout, this tournament is for you,” organizers said. “Bring a friend, enjoy a great day outdoors and help us do a whole lotta good for our community.”
The event will offer much more than competition. Spectators and families can enjoy music and concessions. Admission is free for those who want to cheer on the teams, enjoy the festivities or learn more about the work of Mobius.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information, contact Cheryl Achorn at cachorn@mobiusinc.org or call 207-563-3511, ext. 308.
Proceeds will support Mobius, Inc.’s mission of serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Midcoast Maine. As state funding becomes increasingly stretched, community fundraisers help sustain programs that create opportunities for independence, inclusion and meaningful participation in community life.
Grab your favorite throwing partner, polish up your best toss and join Mobius for a day of music, food, laughter and friendly competition. Every bag that lands on the board will help build a stronger and more inclusive community.
Think your team has what it takes? Gather your partner and register today. The bags are ready, the music is playing, and the competition is on!
