Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: 3 arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 317 calls for service for the period of July 28 to Aug. 4. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 7,826 calls for service.
Summonses
Clifford J. Dumont, 33, of Dexter was issued a summons July 28 for Assault, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.
Allen J. Glidden, 66, of Jefferson was issued a summons July 30 for Attaching False Plates and Operating after License Suspension – Priors, on Rockland Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.
A 15-year-old male juvenile from Bremen was issued a summons July 30 for Operating ATV to Endanger, on Medomak Road, Bremen, by Deputy Zachary Smith.
Arrests
Kyle M. Gornto, 33, of Southport was arrested July 29 for Domestic Violence Assault (priors); Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening; Violating Condition of Release and Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drug, on Camerons Point Road, Southport Island, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.
Bruce Holt, 40, of Edgecomb was arrested July 31 on a Lincoln County warrant for Failure to Appear on an Operating after Habitual Offender Revocation (2 priors), on US Route 1, Nobleboro, by Deputy Zachary Smith.
Dana Sherwood, 30, of Wiscasset was arrested Aug. 2 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Bradford Road, Wiscasset, by Deputy Joseph Booth.
Accidents
On July 29, an accident occurred on Sheepscot Road in Newcastle involving Christopher A. Popp, 24, of Newcastle. Mr. Popp was operating his 2022 Toyota Corolla southbound when a deer ran out in front of him and was struck, causing front, hood and windshield damage. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On July 29, an accident occurred on Butler Road in Boothbay involving H. Winston Kipp, 81, of East Boothbay. Mr. Kipp was operating his 2019 Honda Ridgeline southbound when he stated he fell asleep. As a result, he crossed the centerline and went off the roadway on the left side, where he entered the brush and struck a utility pole guide wire, snapping the pole at the top where the guide wire meets the pole. His vehicle then continued back onto the roadway. Sgt. Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 1, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Lynda R. Holt, 44, of Pittston. Ms. Holt was operating her 2005 Cadillac Deville southbound when she observed a deer enter the roadway from the northbound ditch, continued into the southbound lane and strike her vehicle. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
