Salt Bay Chamberfest Summer Concert Series: Music Unearthed :  SBC's32nd season, explores how generations of Americans have used music to express their multifaceted heritage and feelings about home, self, and cultural identity. Four main concerts that riff on “Unearthed” include: “Found,” rediscovering forgotten European masterworks; “Earth and Sky,” capturing birdsong and the spirituality of the skies; “Created,” exploring creativity in a new work for Sandbox Percussion with composer and steel pannist Andy Akiho; and “Uprooted,” featuring a new composition by composer/cellist Karen Ouzounian on the significance of old music in a new world. The remaining festival concerts will be held at Lincoln Theater Friday, Aug. 7, Tuesday, Aug. 11 and Friday, Aug. 14. All four concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. with a pre-concert lecture beginning at 6:30. More information is available online.

"Disclosure Day" - (PG-13, 2 hours, 25 minutes) -  The film follows a cybersecurity whistleblower and a TV meteorologist as they race to expose a 79-year government cover-up of extraterrestrial life while evading a ruthless shadow organization. If you found out we weren't alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to... Disclosure Day. Cast includes Emily Blunt, Eve Hewson, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, and Colman Domingo. Screening Saturday, Aug. 8 at 1 and 7 p.m.;  Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. (Wednesday matinee screenings played with open captions when available) and 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 13 at 7:15 p.m. Presented in partnership with King Eider's Pub.

"Cave of Forgotten Dreams" - (G; 1 hour, 30 minutes) - Lincoln Theater is pleased to partner with Skidompha Library for the last film of the summer reading series "Unearth a Story," underscoring the joy of discovery that reading brings and that every person and every community have stories waiting to be found and shared – through books, programs, and local knowledge. Join us Sunday, Aug. 9 at noon (in the theater lobby at noon for a special activity hosted by Skidompha—fun for all ages!) and at 1 p.m. for the film. In this documentary, filmmaker Werner Herzog and a small crew are given a rare chance to film inside France's Chauvet Cave, where the walls are covered with the world's oldest surviving paintings. To preserve the art, people are allowed to enter the site for only two weeks a year. Examining the 30,000-year-old drawings, Herzog discusses how the artwork represents humanity's earliest dreams with scientists and art scholars conducting research at Chauvet.
