Y Arts presents: "Elf the Musical JR" - Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. "The Sheep Detectives" - (PG; 1 hour, 49 minutes) - In this witty, new breed of mystery, George (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd who reads detective novels to his beloved sheep every night, assuming they can't possibly understand. But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realize they must become the detectives. As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers. When a therapist investigates the disappearance of a troubled patient, she is drawn into the Backrooms—an endless maze of eerie, fluorescent-lit corridors where reality bends, time loses meaning, and escape may be impossible. Blending surreal sci-fi, suspense, and existential dread, “Backrooms” transforms familiar spaces into a nightmare that lingers long after the lights come up. "Music Unearthed"- 32nd Salt Bay Chamberfest (SBC) Summer Concert Series -  This season SBC explores how generations of Americans have used music to express their multifaceted heritage and feelings about home, self, and cultural identity. Four main concerts that riff on “Unearthed” include: “Found,” rediscovering forgotten European masterworks; “Earth and Sky,” capturing birdsong and the spirituality of the skies; “Created,” exploring creativity in a new work for Sandbox Percussion with composer and steel pannist Andy Akiho; and “Uprooted,” featuring a new composition by composer/cellist Karen Ouzounian on the significance of old music in a new world.

The four festival concerts will be held at Lincoln Theater at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, Friday, Aug. 7, Tuesday, Aug. 11 and Friday, Aug. 14. Pre-concert lecture begins at 6:30 p.m. More information is available online.
