Final week to see 'Thank God I’m a Country Boy'
Event Date
Tuesday, July 28, 2026 - 06:30 pmIf you like country music, pop music, or music from the '70s, this production is for you. The script was created by local playwright, Garrett Carter, featuring the music of the legendary John Denver. Garrett is a master at weaving a tale through the use of music. The original tracks and arrangements were created by our resident music director, Ashley Grace Ryan. Stage direction and costume design were provided by Kelli Leigh-Ann Connors of Lebanon, Maine.
When a group of folk singers find themselves with a bad case of writer's block, they go on a creative retreat to the Rockies. But when one of them has polarizing plans about moving forward with the band, tensions rise between good buddies. Can their friendship survive the Rocky Mountain High?
Meet our unforgettable characters of Jacob (James Paradis of South Berwick, Maine) as the leader of the band. Nash (Zion Hall of Providence, RI) lives in Nash’s shadow and longs to break free with a solo career. Odette (Meredith Charbonnet of New Orleans, LA) yodeler extraordinaire and provider of comedic relief. Hannah (Elena Tarpley of Tampa, FL) provides the group with a voice of reason.
Coming soon: "Lights, Ladies, Legends" opening Aug. 4. A group of girls gather for a sleepover filled with the music of the 1960s, laughter, and dress up. Nothing seems to get in the way of them enjoying their idols from the Golden Age except maybe a pesky little brother and an overly involved dad.
Performances will be held at the Carousel Music Theater located at 196 Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor, through Saturday, Aug. 1.
For tickets please visit our box office between 12 and 4 p.m. daily or visit our website at www.carouselmusictheater.org. Feel free to call the theater with any questions at (207) 633-5297.
