Making new friends at 90 proves difficult. Longing for connection, she befriends a 19-year-old student (Erin Kellyman). Directed by Scarlett Johansson. Meet Santa & "The Polar Express" - (G; 1 hour, 40 minutes) - Lincoln Theater and the Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce are pleased to welcome Santa back to Lincoln Theater followed by a free screening of the holiday classic, “The Polar Express.” Join us at 11 a.m. to share your holiday wishes with Santa Claus, and stick around for a special screening of “The Polar Express,” beginning at noon.
A young boy who has grown skeptical of Santa Claus is shocked to see a train stop outside his window on Christmas Eve, destined for the North Pole. When he accepts an invitation from the conductor to climb on board, he embarks on a white-knuckle ride to Santa's headquarters, where he makes fast friends and learns an invaluable lesson about the true spirit of Christmas. The Boston Camerata: Sing We Noel -Live Concert - A much-loved Camerata holiday program returns with wonderful songs and carols from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance to early America. Camerata’s top soloists, voices and instruments, offer a unique experience at year’s end. Thursday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. Tickets: $40 general gdmission. "The Asphalt Jungle" - (1950; 1 hour, 52 minutes) - The second offering in Lincoln Theater's Classic Film Club. Recently released from prison, Dix Handley concocts a plan to steal $1 million in jewels. Dix gathers a team of small-time crooks, including a safecracker and a lawyer, and the heist is a success until a stray bullet kills one of the men. As they scramble to pick up the pieces after the theft, the men let their greed get the best of them while entangling themselves in webs of deceit, treachery and murder. John Huston directs this grandaddy of all heist films starring Sterling Hayden and Marilyn Monroe. Nominated for Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor and Best Cinematography. Classic Film Club host, Jeannie MacDonald, will present a brief intro at each screening and post-screening discussion. "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" - A Lincoln County Community Theater production - In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple, struggling toput on a church Christmas pageant, is faced with casting the Herdman kids, probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won't believe the mayhem - and the fun - when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on! Featuring a cast of 31 community members of all ages. Curtain goes up at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19 and Saturday, Dec. 20; with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Dec. 21. Tickets: $10 and on sale now through the online box office. Fifty percent of all sales will be donated to the Ecumenical Food Pantry.
