This week at the Harbor Theater
"Pressure" - (PG-13; 1 hour, 40 minutes) - Set during the tense 72 hours leading up to D-Day, Pressure follows General Dwight D. Eisenhower and meteorologist Captain James Stagg as they confront one of the most consequential decisions of World War II: Launch the largest seaborne invasion in history, or delay the operation and risk catastrophic failure. Starring Brendan Fraser as Eisenhower alongside Andrew Scott and Kerry Condon, this gripping historical drama captures the immense pressure, uncertainty, and human stakes behind a pivotal moment in modern history. Set largely within a single war room, "Pressure" is an intense and compelling portrait of leadership, sacrifice, and the burden of impossible choices. Screens Wednesday, June 17, 2 p.m. (OCAP), Thursday, June 18, 7 p.m.
“For all the prior cinematic depictions of storming bunkers and camaraderie under fire, Pressure offers us the quiet heroism of rational restraint in the figure of James Stagg, who weathered his inner storms and bore the courage to be disliked.” – Daniel Jonah Wolpert, NPR
"Toy Story 5" - (PG; 1 hour, 42 minutes) - The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s "Toy Story 5," and this time it’s Toy meets Tech. Woody (voice of Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (voice of Tim Allen), Jessie (voice of Joan Cusack) and the rest of the gang's jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad (voice of Greta Lee), a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie. Will playtime ever be the same? Directed by Academy Award® winner Andrew Stanton and co-directed by Kenna Harris, it is produced by Lindsey Collins, p.g.a., and written by Stanton and Harris from a story by Stanton. The film features an original score by Oscar® winner Randy Newman, who returns to score his fifth Toy Story feature. Based on a true story, during WWII a group of allied escape artist-type POWs are all put in an "escape proof" camp. Their leader decides to try to take out several hundred all at once. The first half of the movie is played for comedy, as the prisoners mostly outwit their jailers to dig the escape tunnel. The second half is high adventure as they use planes, trains, and boats to get out of occupied Europe. Directed by John Sturgis. The stellar cast includes Steve McQueen, James Garner, Charles Bronson, Steve Coburn, Richard Attenborough and Donald Pleasance. Doors open at 5 p.m.; film begins at 6. Regular ticket prices apply.
