This week at the Harbor Theater
"Superman" - (PG13; 2 hours, 10 minutes) - The Man of Steel returns in SUPERMAN, the highly anticipated relaunch of DC’s most iconic hero, directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Set in a fresh and emotionally grounded DC Universe, SUPERMAN follows a young Clark Kent as he navigates his dual identity—balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing in Smallville. Now a reporter in Metropolis, Clark struggles to reconcile his sense of duty with the world’s growing cynicism, all while falling for the sharp, fearless journalist Lois Lane. When a mysterious global threat emerges, challenging Superman’s ideals and forcing him to confront the very core of who he is, he must decide what kind of hero he wants to be. With legacy, hope, and truth on the line, SUPERMAN redefines the origin story for a new generation—epic, heartfelt, and soaring with optimism. Final Shows: Wednesday, August 13, 2 p.m. (OCAP), Thursday, August 14, 7 p.m.
"With Superman, Gunn took on the formidable task of laying the foundation for a whole world. He not only pulled it off, he made it one that feels worth visiting, or if you’re a superpowered visitor from another planet, risking everything to save." -- Keith Phipps, The Reveal (Substack)
