The Damariscotta Historical Society has its annual silent auction event going on now at Skidompha Library located at 184 Main Street in Damariscotta.  The proceeds from the silent auction are to raise funds to preserve ancient burial grounds in Damariscotta.  There are more than 150 items to place your bid on.   

The last day to place your bids is just days away. The silent auction will close on Friday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. Bids can be placed during regular library hours, 9 a.m.-6p.m. Tuesday through Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Auction items can be picked up and paid for on Saturday, Sept. 12, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m.  

There are so many exciting items to bid on, including a Jan Kilburn artwork, a beautiful bench, tools, hand knit sweaters, a safe and nearly 100 gift cards from local merchants.  It’sa great opportunity to get your holiday shopping done, while helping the Damariscotta Historical Society honor members of our community who have passed as well as restore history.
