There is nothing new
Dear Editor:
Here in Maine, January should be the hottest month because Earth is 3% closer to the sun due to its elliptical orbit. But January is the coldest month, and July is the hottest, even though the sun is further away in summer, and we’re talking about an average 40 degree annual temperature climate change, year after year. OMG!
Why, because the sun, due to Earth’s 23 1/2 degree tilt, is immensely more significant than today’s 0.04% CO2 in the atmosphere (about 420 ppm, compared with around 7,000 ppm fifty million years ago). It is all about the sun, not your carbon footprint.
And so, what I need from you all is to cough up another hundred billion right now to start fixing that pesky tilt, or we’re all gonna freeze-fry to death by 2030!
