Tai Chi Class at MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital to promote fall prevention and wellness
This summer, MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital is offering a free six-week Tai Chi class aimed at reducing the risk of falls and improving overall wellness for older adults and community members of all ages.
Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention will be held Tuesdays from June 24 through July 29, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the hospital’s Education Department, located at 66A Chapman Street in Damariscotta.
Led by certified instructors from the hospital’s Community Health Team, the class is designed for beginners and incorporates gentle, low-impact movements proven to enhance strength, flexibility, balance and mental well-being. All skill levels and physical abilities are welcome.
“No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to take a step towards better health," said MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital Community Health Program Management Specialist Adriana Depalma.
This program is part of MaineHealth’s broader commitment to community health and preventive care. There is no cost to attend, but space is limited, and advance registration is required.
To register, call (207) 563-4540 or email Adriana.DePalma@mainehealth.org.
