Monday mornings can be tough for those coming off a big weekend and facing a week of work and activities. Here at SYC, we help ease the transition into Monday with coffee on the deck at 9. This week’s coffee was hosted by Pauline and Stan Walker; members were greeted with coffee cake, a cup of Joe and a warm smile. Put it in your calendar to join us next week!

This weekend was the annual Wine Tasting hosted by Team Vino: Anne Maurer, Janet Duchaine and Jack Bauman. Members were treated to a mix of sample of French wines, each with an introduction including significant history of the region, the owners (whom many Jack has met), the soil and the description of the grapes. Thank you to everyone who helped make the wine tasting a big success. 

Hope to see all of you this Friday night for our annual Cornhole Tournament at 7. Join us for a casual evening of fun and friendly competition on the lawn at SYC. Each year we have a great mix of ages and skill level and there is no shortage of laughter! Last year’s champions, Sheila and Bob Flory, are the team to beat. See you on Friday night! 

On Saturday the 18th we have the Five Islands Ice Cream Turnabout Race at 1 p.m. Meet at the SYC junior dock with your crew and some cash at 12:30 if you’d like to participate. Parents, please help by joining us on the water to ensure all sailors are safe on their trip across the Sheepscot to Five Islands and back. You can find all the details HERE.

Tickets for the SYC Lobster Bake on July 25 are on sale now. Check your newsletter for the link. This event usually sells out so it’s best to get those tickets soon so that you don’t miss out. 

As we inch towards August, we are relishing the beautiful days on the water and all of the summer friends and family filling our cottages.
