Southport town treasurer Gail Sprague informed selectmen last week she planned on leaving her office in March. The treasurer was previously an elected office, but Southport voters changed it to an appointed one last year. Sprague will leave her office with two years left on her term. 

The selectboard is reviewing its options concerning a replacement. "We will put out a few feelers to see who might be interested," said Selectman Gerry Gamage.

Selectmen meet next at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 in the town office.
