Southport sets public hearing for Joppa Road project
Southport selectmen will a hold a public hearing Wednesday, July 23 to answer residents' questions regarding this fall's Joppa Road water project. This fall, Boothbay Region Water District is laying 1,500 additional feet of water line. Selectmen received a letter from Joppa Road residents Jane and John Lunt seeking more information.
"They wanted to know what's going on," Selectman Gerry Gamage said. "Residents want to know the timetable is and what other plans there are for the project." Selectmen scheduled the hearing during their weekly board meeting on July 2.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. following selectmen's regular board meeting in the town hall.
The board received a thank you card from 2025 Boothbay Region High School graduate Anna Gosselin. In April, selectmen awarded an Arthur S. Bryant Scholarship $500 check. Selectmen meet next at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 in the town hall.
